Human Resources Manager

Human Resources Manager

Location: Courtland, Ontario, Canada

Environment:

Manufacturing facility – office based position

~100 employees – non-union

Type: Full-time, Permanent

 

Target Salary Range: $78,000 – $98,000 plus annual bonus opportunity

Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity due to an internal promotion for an experienced HR Manager to join our team! This position will report to the General Manager and will have responsibility for the day-to-day HR operations of the business. They will partner with both management and employees to shape, support and drive a positive and rewarding work environment.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management or related field OR equivalent work experience
  • CHRP or CHRL preferred

Experience Required:

  • Requires 5-8 years of HR Management experience, preferable in a manufacturing company
  • Previous roles may include HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or HR Specialist
  • Exposure or experience working for a publicly traded company
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, health & safety, benefits and employee engagement

Skills and Competencies:

  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite and HRIS platforms such as UKG
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work across a broad spectrum of HR functions
  • Ability to provide sound guidance and recommendations to management

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the recruitment of new talent for the business and ensure strong processes in the onboarding and integration of new employees into the company
  • Champion and lead employee engagement initiatives
  • Develop and distribute employee communications and company updates
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS
  • Communicate and implement policies to employees
  • Lead in the annual performance management process
  • Act as a subject matter expert on employment legislation
  • Partner with the management team to identify training opportunities for employee and put development plans in place
  • Handle workplace investigations and make recommendations to leadership on disciplinary actions required
  • Understand the objectives and goals of the business and collaborate wit the management team to put strategies in place that support the achievement of those goals
  • Champion and participate in the company’s safety program putting in place strong policies and practices that support the overall well being of the workforce
  • Respond in a timely manner to employee’s questions related to benefits, payroll or other related topics
  • Other projects and assignments that support the organization

 

Other Information:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
