Boom Flail Mower

Almost every municipality has several areas which prove difficult, unsafe or even impossible to mow. Ditches, steep inclines, over guard rails, embankments and banks along streams or ponds are usually characterized as being overgrown and unsightly. The Boom Flail Mower is the ideal attachment to take on the tall grass and weeds, brush, hedges and small trees that occupy these spaces.

Operation

Our Boom Flail Mower provides better visibility than side or rear mount Boom Flail Mowers resulting in less operator fatigue and safer operation. Smooth and precise hydrostatic control permits the operator to constantly vary the ground speed without shifting gears allowing him/her to concentrate and react more quickly when approaching an obstruction. The tractor joystick controls all boom functions. The compact size of the MT and Boom Flail Mower causes less interference with passing traffic than large agricultural type tractor/mower combinations. It is an added benefit when travelling to and from the job site.
The Boom Flail Mower can be removed from the Trackless MT in approximately 10 minutes. Storage stands are included. Within minutes the operator can install another attachment, and the operator can be on their way to another job site.

Specifications

The Boom Flail Mower has 32 heavy-duty forged steel knives and a heavy wall 6″ diameter gauge roller. The overall cut width is 43½” (1105mm). Vertical reach is 13 ½’, below-grade cut is 53″, and the horizontal reach is 13 ½’ from the outside of the tire. A hydraulic break-back helps protect the mower from damage if an obstruction is struck. Counterweights are included to ensure stability when the mower is fully extended. The total weight of the Boom Flail Mower and counterweights is 1,960 pounds. Dual wheels and tires on the MT tractor further add to the stability.
